W&D Sporting Goods Postcard, 1886

Unique example of an 1886 correspondence from W&D sporting goods to a textile maker in Rhode Island. The content deals with materials used to make the various styles of baseball belts. There is also some speculation that, maybe, the 'Wright & Ditson, Feb. 3, 1886' notation is in the hand of Geo. Wright himself. An interesting note is that the rest of the writing was done by Wright's brother-in-law, a Temple Craige, who was part of the first golf foursome (along with Wright) in Boston in 1890.
