Baseball's Creation Myth
Civil War era Carte De Vista of Abner Doubleday (Matthew Brady Studios) flanked by a Grand Army of the Republic Medal and contemporary bat and ball. Although Doubleday as the creator/inventor of baseball has been proven time and again to be no more than myth, we included the image for that very reason...the mythics of baseball matter and give us a starting point for a great deal of dialogue and research.
